Listening Group

Informal listening group sessions take place for students and staff during term time.

While we might understand a key concept or technique that drives or defines a composition, it is not the same as sitting down and listening carefully and critically. These sessions are not lectures, there will be no analysis or 'presentation' about the music, just a space to listen to interesting recordings together.

In 2019–20, some of the sessions will follow a number of works on the undergraduate syllabus. These are pieces are named below prior to the listening group. The 'Innocent Ear' sessions will reveal the music at that session, allowing you to listen without preconception or preparation.
